OVERVIEW

Shade sails don’t have to be large or complex to serve their purpose. These NSW Health shade structures were designed to meet a specific brief and budget.

NSW Health needed the shade the balcony level of large building in North Sydney, without drilling in to the slab for membrane reasons. We anchored the shade sails by using ballast filled with weights. The ballasts could also be planted out with plants or be used for tables or seats.

The structure was designed to withstand site specific wind conditions. They are modular, which allows them to be relocated and reused, giving them additional life and value.
